Well it happened, I turned 27 last week.
I have to say, I was pretty excited for 27. I’m at a really cool point in my life where I’m technically an adult doing adult things, but really I’m a goofball enjoying life to the MAX. I use to get caught up in looking forward to vacations, visits from friends and families, and 26 really taught me to embrace every single day. There’s nothing wrong with being excited for the future, but it’s also super important to remember ever day is a gift so you should treat it like one.
Here’s a few things I learned in my 26th year on this earth:
You’re not going to make everyone happy all the time and that’s okay. You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that is also okay. I’m not wasting any more of my energy worrying if people like me (except my bosses, I want them to like me 😉 Honestly though, my friends and family think I’m cool and my husband thinks I’m really funny so I feel pretty good about that. Being healthy is cool, and I am learning to love my body by taking care of it with exercise and good food that’s going to fuel me. Exercise keeps me happy, sane, and more confident so I’m going to keep that going. Cooking has turned into something I love to do and finding healthy alternatives is pretty cool.
Here are some cool things I did:
It’s safe to say it was a very Colorado year with a ton of ski trips, hikes, and some unbelievable views.
Here’s what I’m looking forward to in my 27th trip around the sun:
Do more, see more, explore more and be even more in the moment. I’m excited for my professional career this year, and also for what this blog has in store. Thank you all for following along! Here’s a cute outfit I pulled together this last weekend with a fun jean jumper I found from a thrift store:
So, here we go. Another year and I couldn’t be more excited.
Have a great week everyone! Al and I are headed to Michigan at the end of the week and we are so excited for some family time and for the beach!
